Weaving Demonstration by Kathryn Robinson
Weaving is the process of making fabric by interlacing two sets of threads—warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal)—at right angles on a loom. It's one of the oldest textile techniques in the world, used to create everything from towels and garments to rugs and tapestries. It remains an important craft in Appalachia today.
Local fiber artist Kathryn Robinson will be weaving right here on campus! Ask questions, spend time with the artist, and watch her weaving come to life.
