Cryptids—creatures whose existence is unsubstantiated, like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster—are found in folklore throughout the United States and the world. Mothman is a bipedal, humanoid, mothlike creature with glowing eyes who is said to descended upon Point Pleasant, West Virginia in 1966.
