Mountaineer Idol
We may not have Simon or Paula, but we still put on a great show! This fall will be our 4th year and the program just keeps getting bigger. Three finalists will emerge from the ongoing elimination rounds and will compete in the program’s Final Competition. Special guests and celebrity judges are at each elimination competition. The Mountaineer Idol has received $1,000 for first place, $750 was presented to the second place finisher, and $250 to the third place finisher. All monies to the top three students has been provided by Coca-Cola. Mountaineer Idol is sponsored by Coca-Cola, FOX 36, and American Idol. The 2007 Mountaineer Idol winner was Samantha Bartlow, a senior from Champmanville, WV.
